my quest for a fashionable camera bag
On 31, Oct 2011 | No Comments | In Design Love, Photography, Shopping | By Molly
You really don’t hear “stylish” and “camera bag” in the same sentence too often and I can’t understand why. There are infinite options for beautiful laptop bags and iphone covers, so why not camera bags? After all, cameras have been around far longer and millions of people have them. I’ve recently been on a quest to find a good bag for my own Canon DSLR and all its accessories and have had more trouble than I thought I would. Some companies do make nice ones, but it’s taken a lot of research for me to find them. So far I’ve narrowed my search to the three bags above.
Have any of you come across nice camera bags? I’d love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!
1. “The Brooklyn” by ONA, $309
2. “The Cameron Hobo” by Dre Hartmann, $200
3. “Kelly Boy Bag” in brown by Kelly Moore, $199

This month’s Etsy picks are all vintage office supplies, quite possibly my very favorite things to shop for. The beginning of fall always brings out my nesting side, and while some people reupholster their chairs or shop for new bedding, I prefer to furbish my desk with new vintage finds. My already-overflowing stash of shipping labels and hang tags is getting bigger still, and if I’m not careful I’ll wake up in December and realize I suddenly own four staplers and eight pairs of scissors!
I already own a brilliant script typewriter (a seafoam and mint green Hermes 3000) but all the Hermes color combinations are so fabulous, like the gold and mint one above. It’s a good thing typewriters are expensive or else I’d be swimming in them. My most recent weakness is for vintage rotary phones — especially vibrantly-colored ones like the canary yellow above — which are arguably useless to me since I don’t even have a land line. (But oh how they make me wish I did!)
1. Vintage 1950s fiberglass desk lamp, $76.00 | 2. Hermes 3000 gold and mint green script typewriter, $365.00 | 3. Vintage shipping tags, $8.95 | 4. Vintage arrow model 210 stapler, $10.00 | 5. Vintage scissor collection, $28.00 | 6. alphabet + number rubber stamp set, $25.00 | 7. Refurbished canary yellow rotary phone, $115.00
